Made using fique, a natural biodegradable fibre native to Andean regions of Colombia. Fique has been used for centuries by the local population to make bags, rugs, placemats, bowls and even furniture.

Our placemats are handmade by a cooperative of artisans that have rescued the traditional method for handcrafting fique of the Guanes indigenous community. By purchasing this product you are helping to preserve traditional knowledge and empowering local artisans.
